One of two circuits located in San Juan province in Argentina, the Circuito San Juan Villicum is the newer and more modern venue in the locality compared to the older ‘El Zonda’ circuit located 20 km to the south-west, although both tracks operate simultaneously.
Work began on the Circuito San Juan Villicum in October 2016, with the circuit featuring input from the motorcycle racing governing body FIM as it has been designed for top-level bike racing, for which it holds an FIM Grade A licence. The circuit finally opened in late 2018.
The circuit, adjacent to the famous National Route 40, one of the world’s longest roads, features modern facilities and sits with the backdrop of the foothills of the San Juan Andes in the background.
Argentina’s top touring car championship, Súper TC2000, first visited in 2019, whilst the circuit has also been visited by Turismo Carretera.
