Autodrom Most actually holds the honour of being the first permanent race track in the Czech Republic, despite being less well-known than Brno Circuit.
The circuit, 73 km to the north-west of Prague and just 14 km from the German border, was opened in 1983, tracing its origins, like Brno, to street racing in the area which took place in the 1970s.
The circuit is located on a former open mine and features a series of fast and flowing corners. In 2004 the first corner was changed to remove a fast kink and instead became a sharp right-left chicane with the heaviest braking zone on the circuit, designed to promote overtaking.
The circuit has little in the way of a prominent touring car history, instead having focussed more on motorcycle and truck racing, but in recent years it has gained prominence with dates first in TCR Germany before picking up the FIA WTCR as a stand-in circuit in 2021 due to travel limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
