Little known by many until 2022, the circuit of Anneau du Rhin in the Alsace region of France, close to the border with Germany, was thrust into the limelight when it was chosen as a substitute round in the 2022 FIA World Touring Car Cup.

Built on a former hunting estate, the 3.7 km circuit is owned by François Rinaldi, son of founder Marc Rinaldi, and opened in 1996.

Originally 2.9 km, the circuit was extended in 2004 with a new western complex, which included new pitlane facilities constructed in 2013 and a complex of turns in the final corners reminiscent of Circuit Paul Ricard (thanks in large part to runoff areas of similar painted blue stripes). The surface was resurfaced in 2011 and widened in places.

Located in an area of woodland and arable agriculture between the small towns of Blitzheim and Rustenhart, the track offers little in terms of viewing save for the areas around the final corners and pit and paddock complex.
