The race was red-flagged and not restarted after an accident involving Terry Watts, Richard Longman and Brian Muir. Longman later required hispital treatment for superficial bruising to the face and lacerations of the leg.

Richard Lloyd failed to start the race due to gear selection problems on the warm-up lap resulting in engine damage.

Chris Hodgetts was excluded from the result for an oversize inlet port and illegal gear ratio.
