Roberto Ravaglia was given a stop-and-go penalty for cutting a chicane.

The race was red-flagged after a multiple accident at the start and subsequently re-started with a shortened distance of eight laps less.

The race was red-flagged again and not restarted after the serious collision between Frank Biela and Kieth O'dor which resulted in O'dor's death.
