The season launch event for the 2022 British Touring Car Championship season will take place at Thruxton this year, incorporating the final official pre-season test.
An exclusive, invite-only event will take place on Tuesday 12 April, followed by a full day of testing on the Wednesday.
The event on 12 April will take place in the circuit’s new ‘state-of-the-art’ hospitality and conference centre, the Thruxton Centre. Here, official championship photography, ITV filming and media activities will take place.
On the Wednesday, just ten days before the first round of the season, more than six hours of on-track activity is planned between 1000 and 1300 and from 1400 to 1700.
Spectators will also be permitted to attend the launch for the first time since 2019, with a limited number of tickets available.
Anyone planning to attend the free event must register beforehand. Gates on Wednesday 13 April will open to the public at 10:00 as testing commences.
At lunchtime, a pitlane walkabout session for the public will take place. Food and refreshments will also be available at the Thruxton Centre.
In recent decades, the BTCC season launch and media day has tended to take place at either Brands Hatch, Donington Park or Silverstone.
