Team Wimmer Werk Motorsport’s Eric Scalvini followed up his pole and win on Saturday with another pole position in qualifying for race two of the ADAC TCR Germany series at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday.
The short 20-minute qualifying session had been red-flagged briefly after six minutes when the CUPRA of Christian Voithofer went into the gravel at Turn 6.
That left little time for drivers to get up to speed and post their fast laps. With just a few minutes left on the clock it was the Honda of Dominik Fugel who held the fastest time with a lap of 1 minute 36.737 seconds, but then Italian Scalvini went quicker with a time of 1:36.424 at the end to take pole.
Dominik Fugel ended up in second with his time which was three tenths slower, with the Team Engstler Hyundai of Luca Engstler in third.
Marcel Fugel was fourth fastest in his Honda, six tenths off pole, ahead of an impressive effort by Opel driver Philipp Regensperger in fifth, who had been second with five minutes left on the clock.
René Kircher put his Volkswagen Golf in sixth, ahead of the Audi of Sandro Soubek in seventh, the Austrian having briefly been in the top three earlier in the session.
The top ten was completed by the Hyundai Team Engstler cars of Nico Gruber and Martin Andersen in eighth and ninth respectively, with the RaceSing i30 of Patrick Sing in tenth, over a second off pole.
Race two gets underway at 15:05 CEST (14:05 BST).
