The season opener for the inaugural TCR South America series has been postponed by a month, whilst the calendar has also been updated to reflect a number of changes in response to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
The season had originally been set to get underway at Goiânia in Brazil on 23 May, but the date for the first round has now been pushed back to 26 – 27 June, whilst the venue has been switched to Interlagos. Goiânia no longer features on the calendar.
Curitiba, originally set to be the third round, now assumes the second round of the year, with an unchanged date for the Brazilian venue.
The third round will now be held at Velopark in Brazil, reflecting a date change from June to August.
The event in Uruguay, at Rivera, has been pushed back from 29 August to 12 September.
The calendar previously contained four events which were subject to the venue being confirmed. One of those has now been revealed as Buenos Aires in Argentina in October.
The three remaining events, in October, November and December have yet to be confirmed. The season finale will take place in either Chile or Agentina.
