The 2018 TCR Middle East series will now kick off at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on 18 January 2018, after the event in Dubai was moved to the end of the month and the calendar revised to three events.
A four-event calendar was originally unveiled in November, with the first round originally scheduled to take place on the 5-6 January, one week ahead of the Dubai 24 Hour race.
However, the Dubai event has now been moved to the end of January, with the season kicking off in another part of the United Arab Emirates at the spectacular Yas Marina Circuit.
The official reason for the changing of the date has been put down to logistical reasons, with the season originally set to have begun in just two weeks’ time.
The season will still conclude at the Bahrain International Circuit at the end of February.
