Dušan Borković and Tiago Monteiro have both received penalties for the first World Touring Car Championship race at Spa-Francorchamps which will see them demoted on the starting grid.
Honda driver Monteiro’s penalties dates back to the previous round at the Moscow Raceway, where he was deemed to have been responsible for a collision with ROAL Motorsport’s Tom Chilton. Thus the Portugese driver will start from 11th for the first race, despite qualifying in sixth.
Borković’s penalty comes after his Campos Racing team were forced to change the engine in his Chevrolet after qualifying. The penalty puts him at the back of the grid, despite the Serb having originally qualified in 11th position.
