Brazilian outfit Full Time Sports will join the grid in TCR South America and TCR Brazil this season, running four Lynk & Co cars as part of a joint venture with PMO Motorsport.
PMO Motorsport has run Lynk & Co cars in the series since 2021, expanding to three cars in 2022 and then four cars, at times, in 2023. However, by the end of the season, the team was only running one car, for Rafael Suzuki.
Full Time Sports, based in Vinhedo in Brazil, will compete in both TCR South America and TCR Brazil in 2024.
The team, led by Mauricio Ferreira, was founded in 2004 and has enjoyed considerable success in the Brazilian Stock Car Pro series, winning the drivers’ title on two occasions, both with Rubens Barrichello, in 2014 and 2022.
The team has been victorious in all categories where it has raced, including in Formula 4 Brazil, Formula Renault, Formula 3, Super Clio, Stock Light, Pickup Racing, Trofeo Fiat Linea and GT3 Brasil.
“The arrival [in TCR] is a business expansion strategy for Full Time Sports and diversification of the team’s business platform in motorsport,” explained Mauricio Ferreira.
“We have been established in Stock Car for many years and have been successful in other categories over two decades.
“We have history and in our history since 2004, we saw the potential of categories like TCR, which is now taking off and growing sustainably.
“The concept is worthy of praise with its global regulations and the participation of many brands. It is a commitment to another arm of our operations, with the hope that it will grow along with the relevance of TCR racing in Brazil and neighbouring countries.”
TCR Brazil Promoter Mauricio Slaviero welcomed Full Time Sports to the TCR fold.
“Led by Mauricio Ferreira, Full Time has stood out in various categories in Brazil over the years,” said Ferreira. “We are very happy with the team’s interest in the TCR platform, which illustrates the growing interest that the concept arouses in the country.
“Last year we had the first edition of TCR Brazil and we are sure that the arrival of Full Time to the South American and Brazilian championships will contribute to the growth of the event as a whole.”
