Juan Ángel Rosso remains with Paladini Racing in TCR South America

Argentine Juan Ángel Rosso will continue to drive for Paladini Racing in this year’s TCR South America season, extending his stay to a third full season in the championship.

Rosso made his TCR début in a one-off outing in an endurance race at Buenos Aires in 2021, when at the time he was competing in the Argentine TC2000 championship. Along with Mattias Mílla, he scored pole position on his début.

For the following year, he switched to TCR full-time, emerging as a title challenger with Sqaudra Martino in a Honda backed by Paladini, eventually finishing as runner-up.

For 2023, he made the move to the new series with his father Victor’s outfit, brininging sponsor Paladini as they made the move to racing new Toyota Corolla GRS TCR machinery.

Last year Rosso failed to win a race but still scored six podiums on his way to fourth overall in the standings, all of them coming in a strong second half of the season.

“I am happy to confirm that we will be present once again in TCR South America,” said Rosso, 30. “I am happy because it is a category that is growing, that is becoming more and more interesting to participate in and that has a transparency that characterises it that makes me happy to compete as equals against my rivals.

“Regarding the team, a general check of the cars was done, they were repainted and we are waiting for the first weeks of February to begin assembly and preseason.

“Taking personal stock of 2023, I think the second half was good, especially because the first half had been somewhat complicated.

“We are getting excited about fighting for the championship this year. That was last year’s goal and we couldn’t meet it, but we worked on developing the car and learned so that this season the goal can be met. We hope to rise to the occasion.”
