Dan Cammish steals pole as NAPA Racing UK dominates Croft Qualifying

Dan Cammish returned to his early season form after putting it on pole as he did at Donington. The NAPA Racing UK driver led a team 1-2-3.

Cammish set a 1:22.126 putting over a tenth on teammate Dan Rowbottom in second. Rowbottom just beat championship leader Ash Sutton to the front row by 0.027 seconds.

Sutton, like his two teammates in front of him, did not attempt to improve after a late red flag. Daryl DeLeon crashed with less than five minutes to go which brought out a red flag. This meant the clock was reset to five minutes leaving everyone else to try for a time one last time.

Josh Cook was the closest rival to the Fords missing out on getting amongst them by 0.019 seconds. The One Motorsport driver was unable to improve in the dying moments as most drivers ended up emulating that frustrating end to a session.

Colin Turkington was the lead BMW in fifth despite being the fastest man in the final sector. The rear-wheel drive car was quick to set his fast laps but as the session went on he also could not find any more time.

Turkington was only just the fastest BMW as right behind in sixth was Jake Hill. Hill, who found himself off the circuit in the dying moments, was left pondering as everyone struggled to improve to take the fight to the Fords.

Tom Ingram qualified in seventh in what was a desperate last five minutes being one of very few to improve. As the red flag dropped Ingram found himself well outside the top 10. On his last laps the reigning champion had a pair of Power-Maxed Vauxhalls in front but still managed to put his EXCELR8 Hyundai in seventh.

Right behind was one of the Vauxhalls in the form of Árón Taylor-Smith. The Irishman again impressing bringing the car to yet another impressive qualifying session this season. Setting the exact same time as the man behind him.

That man was Stephen Jelley who made it three BMWs in the top 10. Unfortunately setting his lap time after Taylor-Smith meaning the position was not his. That means for his 250th race start Jelley will start from ninth.

Aidan Moffat was the man who rounded out the top 10 only behind the two in front by 0.008 seconds. Moffat also being in a One Motorsport Honda as teammate Cook meant that there were five manufacturers inside the top 10.
