Tom Ingram penalised for contact, Gordon Shedden inherits win

Gordon Shedden has inherited the win in the second British Touring Car Championship race at Donington Park, after Tom Ingram was adjudged to have made unfair contact with the Honda driver.

Excelr8 Motorsport’s Ingram had scythed through the field in his ballast-free Hyundai to rise from 11^th to first come the chequered flag.

However, in his pass on early race leader Shedden on lap ten, Ingram was adjudged to have gained an unfair advantage and has been penalised by the addition of one second to his race time, following a protest by Team Dynamics.

The penalty slightly changes the championship dynamic, with Ingram losing three points and thus the gap to Ash Sutton at the top of the table has increased to 36 points with just four races left in the championship.
