PMO Motorsport will expand its entry in this year’s TCR South America series, adding two Peugeot 308 TCR cars to its two Lynk & Co 03 cars which it has already raced.
The Argentine team joined the series for the third event of the year at Rivera in Uuruguay, running a brace of new Lynk & Co 03 cars.
It will now expand from the sixth event of the season at Buenos Aires next month, having acquired two new Peugeots, one of which will make its first appearance in two weeks’ time.
One of the cars will be driven by Ernesto Bessone and Fabricio Pezzini in the endurance event which is set to take place on 12 – 13 November.
Bessone has a wealth of experience, having won the prestigious Argentine TC2000 champion in 1996, Turismo Nacionál in 2003, Turismo Carretera in 2003 and Top Race in 2004.
“I am very happy to start a new challenge in motorsports with my participation in the TCR South America,” said Bessone.
“I’m looking forward to learn from this category, as I see a bright future for it.”
Pezzini, who formerly raced in South American Formula 3, is a more recent convert to touring car racing, and has won races in Turismo Nacionál and Turismo Carretera.
The team plans to field its second Peugeot at the seventh event of the year at Autódromo Oscar Cabalén in Alta-Gracia-Córdoba on 4 – 5 December, where Bessone and Pezzini will get a car each.
