Adam Morgan finished quickest in the first free practice session at Donington Park in the British Touring Car Championship, with the session being stopped twice due to red flags.
Morgan, driving the Car Gods with Ciceley Motorsport BMW 330i M Sport, ended the first session of the weekend just three thousands of a second quicker than early session pacesetter Senna Proctor with a time of 1 minute 09.840.
The leading times were all set in the middle of the 40 minute session, before firstly Jack Goff in the Team HARD. with Autobrite Direct CUPRA Leon stopped on the track at the Old Hairpin.
With the session then getting back underway with eight minutes remaining, a second red flag was shown just a few moments later that effectively ended the session early and thus preventing any of the field to set potentially faster times.
As a result, this meant third quickest was another of the BTC Racing Honda’s in the form of Josh Cook, who ended FP1 0.110 behind pacesetter Morgan.
Fourth on Saturday morning was Rory Butcher – who won twice last time out at Silverstone – and he finished the session ahead of teammate Sam Smelt in the two Toyota GAZOO Racing UK Corollas.
Gordon Shedden ended the session sixth in the Halfords Racing with Cataclean Honda, with Chris Smiley finishing the first free practice session seventh and was the fastest of the quartet of Hyundai i30N’s in the field.
Championship leader Ash Sutton – who again comes into this weekend carrying maximum weight aboard the Laser Tools Racing Infiniti, finished FP1 eighth and ahead of title rival Tom Ingram.
Aaron Taylor-Smith was tenth quickest in another of the Team HARD. Cupras, with championship contender Jake Hill taking 11th fastest in the session.
The second Free Practice session of the weekend is set to get underway at 12:10 BST on Saturday.
