Gordon Shedden fastest in second Snetterton practice

Team Dynamics’ Gordon Shedden was the fastest driver in the second practice session for the British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton, edging out first practice pace-setter Tom Ingram by four tenths.

Shedden, who completed fewer laps than any other driver, put in a time of 1 minute 56.149 seconds on his fourth effort, going just under fourth tenths slower than the best lap in the day’s earlier session.

Ingram was once again near the top of the times in his Excelr8 Motorsport-run Hyundai, although he could only manage second quickest this time around.

Jack Goff was an impressive third quickest in the new Team HARD CUPRA Leon, the only other driver within half a second of Shedden’s pace.

Ash Sutton, who had been second fastest earlier in the day, was fourth fastest this time around in his Infiniti, ahead of BTC Racing’s Senna Proctor in fifth.

Jake Hill was the best of the Ford Focus drivers in sixth, ahead of the second Excelr8 Hyundai of Chris Smiley in seventh, the last driver within a second of Shedden.

Dan Rowbottom made it two Team Dynamics Hondas inside the top ten in eighth, ahead of the BTC Racing-run Honda of Josh Cook in eighth and the best BMW of Tom Oliphant in tenth.

Having been inside the top ten earlier in the day, this time around Dan Lloyd could only manage 11^th as the best of the two Vauxhalls, whilst his team-mate Jason Plato was 15^th after getting going late in the session.

25 of the 29 drivers were within two seconds of Shedden’s pace.

Qualifying is scheduled to get underway at 14:35 BST.
