Argentine racer José Manuel Sapag will return to the TCR Europe series in Barcelona next weekend, joining Target Competition to take part in the final three events in a Hyundai i30 N TCR.
Sapag, 25, made his TCR Europe début two years’ ago at Monza, when he took part in the races at Monza in a CUPRA run by Baporo Motorsport.
Scoring a best finish of 11th in race two, Sapag didn’t take part in any TCR races in 2019, instead focussing on competing in the domestic Argentine Super TC2000 season.
Sapag will race a fourth Hyundai alongside John Filippi and Andreas and Jessica Bäckman, also competing at Spa-Francorchamps and Jarama to conclude the season.
“We had an agreement with Target Competition to run at least five events in TCR Europe this year,,” explained the TC2000 race-winner, “but the plan has been thwarted by the travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“If the situation improves, I’m looking forward to entering in the full 2021 TCR Europe season.”
