Sami Taoufik twice penalised for race one misdemeanours

Comtoyou Racing’s Sami Taoufik has lost his sixth-place finish in the opening TCR Europe race at Monza, with the Audi driver being penalised for a jump start and contact with a competitor.

Taoufik was adjudged to have jumped the start, earning the Moroccan a post-race 30-second time penalty.

That alone would have lost him most of his points, but a second 30-second time penalty was given to Taoufik for contact with Brutal Fish Racing’s Martin Ryba.

Although other incidents of contact were investigated in the race, no further action has been taken with respect to the race one result.
