Audi has revealed the liveries which will adorn its factory-backed RS5 DTM cars for the 2020 season, with a number of colour changes to complement new sponsors.
Reigning champion René Rast will run in the colours of porta Möbel, sporting a red and white colour scheme for the German’s fourth full season in the DTM.
Mike Rockenfeller, meanwhile, will run a striking new-to-DTM yellow and blue colour scheme for automotive workshop firm TWIN BUSCH. The livery has already been seen on a touring car though – Finn Antti Buri ran the same sponsor on an Audi RS3 LMS in TCR Germany for the past three seasons.
Frenchman Loïc Duval will run in red and grey, the same colours used in the joint race with Super GT last November, backed by BMC Air Filter.
Jamie Green’s car also changes colour, with the Brit trading in orange for a black colour scheme sponsored by Akrapovič previously used by Mike Rockenfeller in 2019.
Nico Müller and Robin Frijns have unchanged liveries for 2020, the Swiss in green and white for Castrol EDGE and the Dutchman in blue for ARAL Ultimate.
Head of Audi Motorsport Dieter Gass also used the livery reveal to re-emphasise why audi remains committed to competing in the DTM.
“For the foreseeable future, Audi will sell more cars with internal combustion engines than with electric drive,” said Gass.
“That’s why a racing series with modern, efficient combustion engines in parallel with our involvement in the Formula E electric racing series makes sense.”
