Ciceley Motorsport has confirmed that it will field an unchanged driver line-up in the 2020 British Touring Car Championship, retaining both Adam Morgan and Daniel Rowbottom in its Mercedes-Benz A Class cars.
Morgan heads into his eighth season in the series with the team, and his ninth in the BTCC, hoping to add to his tally of seven race wins, the most recent of which came at Rockingham in 2018.
The 31-year-old has raced with the family team ever since 2013, after an initial season at Speedworks Motorsport, and has competed in Mercedes machinery since 2014.
Although he missed out on victory in 2019, Morgan still claimed four podium finishes, ending the year 12th overall in the drivers’ standings.
Rowbottom joined the grid in 2019 and claimed four points finishes, with the Kidderminster-based driver scoring a best result of 14th at Thruxton in August.
“Last year was a tough one for us as I was getting to grips with the championship and there was a lot to learn for me personally,” said former Clio Cup racer Rowbottom.
“Ciceley is a team I feel very comfortable with and Adam is a great team-mate to have. We worked well together, and we identified areas where we can improve the car over the closed season, so there will be no rest for the team.
“I want to be in a position where I am regularly challenging inside the top ten and looking towards the podium and I want to able to back up the results that Adam has to move the entire team forward.
“I think that is we get some luck with reversed grid draws, we could look for results which are even better than that. It is a really important season for me to build on the progress I have already made.”
