19-year-old Polish racer Albert Legutko will join the TCR Europe grid for the season finale at Monza this weekend, racing a Honda Civic Type-R FK2 run by his own team.
Legutko was born in Poland but currently lives in Berlin, and he will be supported by ADAC Berlin Brandenburg in this weekend’s races in Italy.
The youngster only began racing in 2015, firstly in the Polish KIA Lotos Cup, where he finished runner-up in 2016.
He then moved to the Renault Clio Cup Central Europe in 2018, finishing second overall.
“We decided to participate in TCR Europe’s finale because we want to step up to touring car racing,” said Legutko. “We came across this amazing opportunity and decided to capitalize on it, especially since it’s Monza and I have some good memories from that track, because it is there that I sealed my position as runner up in the 2016 KIA Cup.
“We want to use this participation as our next step in my development as a racing driver, which also fits within our budget.”
