Tarquini, Catsburg and Ma penalised after Nordschliefe races two and three

Gabriele Tarquini, Nicky Catsburg and Ma Qing Hua were penalised after incidents and technical infringements in races two and three of the FIA World Touring Car Cup on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

In race two Tarquini made contact with the Volkswagen of Rob Huff at the Carousel on the final lap, pitching Huff into the barriers and out of the race, with the damage also ruling him out of race three.

The 30-second penalty imposed to Tarquini, in lieu of a drive-through, drops the Italian from fourth to 23^rd and takes away the points he had earned, also dropping him from sixth to seventh in the drivers’ championship standings.

Catsburg, meanwhile, was excluded from the race two result after his Hyundai was found to be “disrespecting the maximum boost pressure and the maximum engine speed values published in the BoP chart for the event”.

The exclusion denies Catsburg the points he would have received for finishing in tenth position.

Team Mulsanne’s Ma Qing Hua was given a post-race five-second penalty in race three for contact with Niels Langeveld on the Grand Prix circuit, dropping the Chinese driver from 13^th to 15^th, although with Antti Buri not scoring points due to being a wildcard entry, Ma in effect only loses one point.
