AmD with Cobra Exhausts’ Ollie Jackson says he is targeting points finishes at the British Touring Car Championship’s season finale at Brands Hatch this weekend, aiming to be finishing “towards the top ten.”
With ninth position in race three at Rockingham being Jackson’s last points finish to date, the Tamworth racer is eager to score consistent points on the Brands Hatch GP circuit.
Jackson scored his maiden BTCC podium in a frantic race two at the Kent circuit earlier this season, and is confident of his chances on the 2.4-mile GP layout.
“I’m looking forward to Brands Hatch and am keen to make up for the tough luck we’ve had in recent rounds,” said Jackson.
“The car has been strong around the GP circuit in recent years and given it is now better than it has ever been before, I’m confident about our chances of a strong end of the year.”
Jackson struggled at Silverstone, suffering from contact in two contests, including sustaining heavy damage in race three after collecting a spinning Stephen Jelley at Luffield.
Now his Audi S3 has been fully repaired, Jackson is eager to have a clean run this weekend in a bid to score solid points.
“It’s important for me and the team to try and end the year well, and the aim is to bring home some points this weekend and try to push towards the top ten,” he said.
“I think that is something we can certainly achieve if we can keep our nose clean and stay out of trouble.”
