Czech racer Petr Fulín is planning a triple TCR campaign in 2017, entering selected races in TCR Europe, TCR Germany and the Nürburgring round of the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) with Vekra Racing Team.
Fulín, 41, is an experienced touring car driver, having won the FIA European Touring Car Cup in 2013, 2014 and 2017, and finishing as runner-up in 2015 and 2016.
He will race a new CUPRA TCR with Vekra Racing Team in 2018, under the licence of the Fulín Race Academy.
“It‘s great to have the opportunity to race with the new CUPRA TCR,” said Fulín. “We want to run it in a wide-range of TCR Series.
“We will start with a couple of rounds of TCR Germany, at Oschersleben and Most, our home racetrack. Afterwards, we have planned to take part in the WTCR event at the Nürburgring and we are waiting for the confirmation that our entry will be accepted.
“We will finish the season in the TCR Europe series’ finale at Barcelona.”
The Head of SEAT Czech Republic, Aleš Novák, is looking forward to the brand continuing its relationship with Fulín which dates back to 2015.
“We are really happy that, after three successful seasons, we can continue working with Petr Fulín to promote our brand in touring car competition and introduce the new CUPRA TCR.
“And because the TCR Germany series will visit Most, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to be on the grid.”
