Giacomo Altoè will take no further part in the current TCR International Series season, withdrawing from the series ahead of the Chinese event, having previously raced with WestCoast Racing and M1RA.
The Italian recently secured his best-ever result in the TCR International Series by finishing second in Thailand, in his first event with the Hungarian M1RA team.
However the 16-year-old will now not complete the season, after withdrawing from the championship ahead of this weekend’s races at the Zhejiang International Circuit in China.
“I’m really sorry to confirm this news, but unfortunately there are no conditions to continue with M1RA and Honda and finish the season,” said Altoè to Italian Motorsport.com. “I already knew I would not fly to China, and I strongly doubt that I will be there for the last event of the year.
“This does not mean that I will abandon the TCR world; indeed, I am already working on the next season, my intention is to continue my career in this category.”
Altoè is likely to reappear in TCR at the Adria International Raceway, owned by his father Mario, later this month for the TCR European Trophy.
