Ciceley Motorsports’ Adam Morgan was absolutely delighted with his podium finish in the first race in extremely difficult conditions.
“I am chuffed to bits with that”, Morgan said to TouringCars.Net. “It was pretty slippery!
“Luckily I was able to use Jack (Goff) and Tom (Ingram) as [a guide] to how slippery it was into turn one so I could gauge on how wide and slow they were going and how wide and slow I needed to go.
“That’s a mega result and I’m happy with that. Hopefully there’s a bit more to come in race two.”
Morgan was convinced that there was never a time that he considered a trip to the pits for wet tyres.
“It was slippery but it was never wet enough to change to wets. It was a case of managing it. The car felt really strong, especially on the brakes, which is helpful in difficult conditions. We were catching Jack and perhaps if we’d had a couple more laps, I could have had him”
Morgan is hoping his can take his A Class Mercedes to a second podium in race two.
“Although we’ll now have a bit of weight for race two, we can hopefully do the same in the next race!”
