The Audi RS3 LMS and Honda Civic TCR cars have been given a 10 kg weight break for all TCR events with immediate effect, following an update by the TCR Technical Department.
It means that the Audi drops from 25 to 15 kg of Balance of Performance [BoP] weight, whilst the Honda drops from 30 to 20 kg, reducing the two cars’ running weights to 1,300 and 1,305 kg respectively.
Audi drivers have not taken a podium in the TCR International Series since the Salzburgring in early June, although the cars have continued to be victorious in TCR Germany where there were 18 of the RS3s in the most recent event at Zandvoort.
All other models of car will retain their previous running weights, with the Opel Astra TCR being the third-heaviest at 1,295 kg and the Subaru STi and Peugeot 308 being lightest at 1,245 kg and 1,225 kg respectively.
The change takes place with immediate effect and must be used in this weekend’s TCR races in China, Germany and Russia.
