Audi Sport customer racing celebrated the delivery of the 100th Audi RS3 LMS TCR in July, with a special gold-painted model which was presented to guests by Joonas Lappalainen in Barcelona.
The car, which was only announced in September 2016, has already proven to be one of the most popular models of TCR car, which has been proven by the demand for the RS3.
With the expertise of colleagues in Spain, the RS3 LMS production is in the hands of SEAT Sport at Martorell in the Iberian Peninsula.
The car was featured at the first-ever Audi Summit Brand Show in Barcelona, and on the following day the management team of Audi Sport customer racing visited the employees of the racing department at Martorell.
“In just its debut season, we have already delivered 90 examples of our race car to customers around the world and have received preorders up to the 100th model,” said Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing.
“We’re proud that our entry model for touring car racing has gone down so well and that it is already such an important pillar of our model range.
“My thanks go to our colleagues in Spain for the excellent work in building our race car.”
The RS3 has already achieved 24 wins, in both sprint and endurance races and 73 podiums, out of 125 races to-date.
