Three official tests ahead of the 2017 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season have been scheduled, taking place at Portimão, Vallelunga and the Hockenheimring.
The first test will take place at the Algarve International Circuit in Portugal between the 20th and 24th February. There will then be four days at Vallelunga in Italy between the 14th and 17th March, before the final test at the Hockenheimring in Germany between the 3rd and 6th April.
Manufacturers will be testing features in relation to the new technical regulations, which are expected to be announced soon, with the final decisions on those alterations currently being agreed.
The final test at the Hockenheimring is likely to be open free of charge to the public, with further details to be announced in the coming weeks.
DTM manufacturers have down-sized ahead of the 2017 season, with all three marques running six cars to make an 18-car grid. Newcomers to the series include Audi’s Loïc Duval and René Rast (who competed in only three races in 2016). Merecedes’ Maro Engel is returning to the DTM after a five-year absence.
