The British Touring Car Championship will be heavily represented at this year’s Autosport International Show, due to take place at the NEC in Birmingham over the weekend of 12th-15th January 2017.
The championship has expanded it’s presence even further for this year, with the addition of an all-new stand complimented by the presence of several front-running machines courtesy of WSR, Motorbase, Handy Motorsport and AmDtuning.com
Among the high-profile unveiling on Thursday morning are the announcements regarding Motorbase’s second driver after they recently signed a sponsorship deal with cereal brand Shredded Wheat, and the unveiling of Andrew Jordan’s Pirtek-branded BMW 125i M Sport after he switched from David Bartrum’s outfit to WSR in the off-season.
Rob Austin will also be on-hand to show off his redesigned Toyota Avensis, as will AmD, who have expanded to two Audi S3 challengers for the forthcoming campaign.
Meanwhile, championship-winning outfit Halfords Yuasa Racing are set to unveil their Honda Civic Type R machines on the Rimstock stand, as will Simpson Racing on their own stand.
A whole host of drivers are expected to be in attendance, including defending champion Gordon Shedden, his team-mate and three time winner Matt Neal, fellow champions Colin Turkington (Subaru) and Andrew Jordan and a raft of others looking to share in the annual curtain-raiser in Birmingham.
Regular autograph sessions and photo opportunities are set to be hosted on the Dunlop BTCC stand, along with interviews conducted by the championship’s very own Alan Hyde. A full timetable of activities is set to be published nearer the time.
Tickets are still available for the event, but please note Thursday 12th/Friday 13th January are designated trade-only days.
