Matt Simpson will continue his development within the British Touring Car Championship next season after agreeing a deal to run in partnership with championship stalwarts Team Dynamics.
Simpson, who endured a difficult graduation to the series following numerous successes in Hot Rods and Intermarque series, will continue to run the ever-successful Honda Civic Type R package alongside reigning three-time champion Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal.
He started his maiden campaign in the UK’s premier tin-top series in strong fashion, registering a maiden point on his first weekend at Brands Hatch back in April, before cementing his early form with a pair of 13th place finishes at Thruxton a month later.
His progress eventually amounted to a 15th place finish overall in this year’s Independent’s Trophy, won by Andrew Jordan, and included a victory in the Jack Sears Trophy class at the Brands Hatch GP finale in October.
The move to Dynamics’ stable is set to further the development path Simpson undertook this campaign with Speedworks Motorsport.
Despite running alongside the works Honda machines, Simpson will also continue to race under his long-term banner of Simpson Racing.
“I’m over the moon to be working with Team Dynamics for next year,” Simpson commented.
“Their track record and pedigree speaks for itself, and we know we have a great package in the Honda Civic Type R they have developed. I can’t wait to go testing with them in the New Year.
“We’re really pleased to have Matt on-board for next season,” echoed Team Dynamics team manager James Rodgers. “He was fast and reliable all year, and I now hope with our input we can help him move up the grid to the next level.”
