Recently crowned Ginetta GT4 Supercup vice-champion Will Burns is set to sample NGTC machinery for the first time in his career at Snetterton tomorrow [Thursday 20th October] as he completes a maiden test in one of Team.HARD’s Toyota Avensis’.
Burns, who scored three race victories among seventeen podium finishes in the highest level of Ginetta competition on the TOCA package this season, also competed at Circuit de Nevers Magny Cours last weekend in one of the G57 prototypes.
The move to test with Tony Gilham’s three-car outfit comes as Burns assesses his options ahead of next campaign.
“I’ve always watched the BTCC ever since I was a child and ever since I started racing I’ve wanted to drive a touring car, so this is an amazing opportunity. The front-wheel drive Avensis is something completely different to anything I’ve driven before.
“With that in mind, I’m not going into the test with any huge expectations. It’s a chance for me to try something new and if I can get close to the pace first time out, then I’d be delighted. I can’t wait to get out on track at Snetterton!” commented Burns.
