WestCoast Racing are hoping to be able to deliver a third win of the season for Mikhail Grachev on home ground in the TCR International Series this weekend.
Grachev has already claimed two victories this year since switching to the Swedish team after six races, triggering an immediate upturn in form for the Russian driver.
Now Team Manager James Nixon is hoping that the squad can repeat the victories taken in Imola and Salzburg with victory at the Sochi Autodrom for the 28-year-old.
The team have also already taken a win with lead driver Gianni Morbidelli in 2016, with the Italian now sixth in the drivers’ championship standings, after a run of bad luck in recent races.
“The home race for Mikhail will hopefully provide us with the third victory,” said Nixon. “Whilst Gianni will as always be pushing for victory, this weekend he needs a change in fortune after bad luck in the last couple of races.
“The ever hard-working team at WestCoast will for sure be giving the drivers the best cars they can as they all try to get back into the championship fight once again.”
Grachev is currently tenth overall in the drivers’ championship standings, having failed to score any points in the previous race meeting at Oschersleben.
Both of the TCR International Series’ races from Sochi will be streamed live online at YouTube.
