The new Romeo Ferraris built Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR car has successfully completed its first test at the San Martino del Lago circuit in Cremona, northern Italy.
The car was shared between Michela Cerruti and Salvatore Tavano, who both have experience in different categories of touring car racing.
Cerruti made her TCR début at the event at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, where she raced a SEAT León for Target Competition.
Whilst Tavano has not yet raced in the TCR Series, the Italian was earmarked to race the new Giulietta in Macau, if the team had been able to make it to the season finale.
Tavano has previous experience in the World Touring Car Championship, having won a race at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo in 2006.
The test focussed on checking the mechanical components of the car and setting up the engine and gearbox. Both drivers will be back in action with the car in Cremona next week.
