Swiss Menu once again proved his pace in a timed session to take the top spot, whilst Frenchman Muller was 0.477 seconds slower. Nash continued to prove that his pace was not a one-off and his third-fastest time was 0.771 seconds off Menu’s pace.

Fastest in the opening session, Pepe Oriola was fourth quickest in second practice. Tom Coronel improved from his eighth fastest in FP1 to go fifth fastest in FP2, with Aleksei Dudukalo once again sixth fastest and the last driver within a second of Menu’s pace in the Lukoil Racing SEAT.

Rob Huff was seventh, followed by Norbert Michelisz, Tiago Monteiro and Gabriele Tarquini who, after being second in the first session, ended up more than one and a half seconds off the pace in the second practice session. The Italian ended the session in the gravel trap after going wide at turn thirteen.

In contrast to his team-mates strong form, Tom Chilton struggled in the second practice session and could only manage 16th fastest. The Brit had previously failed to complete any laps in the first practice period and ended the second session 2.7 seconds off the pace.
