Tordoff had spent most of the 40 minute on top of the times before Adam Morgan in the Ciceley Racing Toyota went fastest before being beaten by Jackson. Jeff Smith in the Pirtek Racing Honda Civic also topped the times briefly and finished the session 4th fastest, just ahead of Morgan.
The 40 minute session saw six drivers top the session at one stage or another while two of the Championship contenders, Gordon Shedden and Jason Plato, had problems in the session which reduced their track time.
Plato sat out most of the session with issues to the front of the #99 MG6 while Shedden finished the session in the garage due to an technical issue.
Shedden and Plato finished the session 9th and 10th, behind Andrew Jordan, Nick Foster and Will Bratt.
Championship leader Matt Neal finished outside the top 10 with the 16th fastest time, while the fifth title contender, Colin Turkington finished the session 13th fastest in the #29 eBay Motors and slowest of the BMW’s.
Lea Wood once again topped the Jack Sears Trophy category – the Wheel Heaven/Houseman Racing Vauxhall Vectra driver can secure the title this weekend with a clean sweep of class victories.
Qualifying ahead of round 22 gets underway at 15:40 BST.
