Andrew Jordan will test the Olsbergs MSE teams’ Ford Fiesta Rallycross car on the 4th June in Sweden after team owner Andreas Eriksson invited the Brit to try out the car.
The 2007 Rallycross Supercar Champion has maintained a strong interest in the sport despite switching to circuit racing and the test will see him return to the arena where he originally made his name.
Olsbergs MSE run the factory backed Ford outfit in the American Rallycross Championship while Tanner Foust is entered by them in the FIA European Rallycross Championship.
“I’ve spoken to the team owner Andreas Erickson for the last couple of months and he rang me the other day to offer me a test, with the view of working together in the future,” Jordan commented.
Since moving to circuit racing, Jordan has worked his way up the ranks and the test is a few days before rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the 2013 British Touring Car Championship, where he is presently second in the Championship at the wheel of the NGTC Honda Civic run by Pirtek Racing.
He admits that the BTCC is his primary aim at present, as he chases his first outright drivers’ title having secured the Independent drivers’ title in 2012. He is looking forward to trying out the latest generation of Rallycross car before the trip to Oulton Park.
“Obviously my prime focus is the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, but it will be a fantastic experience to sample the latest generation of rallycross car,” he concluded.
