2024 MINI Challenge Rookie Cup champion Maximus Hall will join Un-Limited Motorsport for the 2025 British Touring Car Championship season, racing one of its CUPRA Leon cars.
The 17-year-old made his car racing début in the 2021 Ginetta Junior Championship, finishing 23rd overall, before winning the Junior Saloon Car Championship in 2022.
He switched to the MINI Challenge in 2023, and this year he was one of the championship’s star performers, finishing second overall to Dan Zelos whilst also clinching the Rookie Cup title.
He will make his BTCC début next year, with the team currently finalising plans to run a second car in 2025 alongside Hall.
Un-Limited Motorsport made its BTCC début in 2024, acquiring an ex-Team HARD CUPRA for Daryl DeLeon, who was a regular points finisher and scored three top ten finishes during the campaign. The team and DeLeon have yet to confirm if a deal has been agreed for them to continue working together in 2025.
“Joining Un-Limited Motorsport at this stage of my career is an incredible opportunity,” said Hall. “While I know we have work to do as a team, I’m excited about the challenge and ready to give it everything I’ve got.
“Competing in the BTCC has always been a dream, and I’m confident we can make great progress together. This is a big step for me, and I can’t wait to get started.
“Competing as one of the youngest drivers in the BTCC is both surreal and an incredible honour, especially in a series known for its experienced competitors.
“It’s an opportunity to prove that age doesn’t define ability and that a fresh, hungry perspective can add something unique to the championship.
“My primary focus is to maximise every opportunity to learn and grow as a driver. I aim to refine my racecraft, build momentum, and consistently deliver strong performances, contributing to the team’s progress while narrowing the gap to the front-runners.
“Achieving regular top ten finishes and competing for podiums are key goals, but it’s also about gaining valuable experience and helping the team and car reach their full potential.
“With over a decade of racing experience, starting at age six, I bring energy, enthusiasm, and a modern approach to the sport.
“By the end of the season, I want to establish myself as a driver consistently in contention for top results, proving that young talent can make a meaningful impact in one of motorsport’s most prestigious championships.”
Team Owner Bob Sharpless described preparations for the team’s second season in the BTCC as a ‘pivotal moment’ for both the squad and its new driver.
“Max is exactly the kind of driver we were looking for to join Un-Limited Motorsport,” said Sharpless. “He’s demonstrated incredible skill and determination throughout his career, and we’re confident he’ll thrive in the BTCC environment.
“This is a pivotal moment for both the team and Max, and we’re excited to see what we can accomplish together.
“We’re also looking forward to expanding to a two-car entry next season, which will be another major milestone for us.”
