Estonian racer Ruben Volt will return to both the TCR Italy and TCR Europe series’ in 2024, where he will continue to race a Honda Civic Type-R FL5 TCR run by ALM Motorsport.
Volt, 17, made his TCR début in 2021 in Italy and immediately impressed, ending the season sixth overall with a best result of third – despite being just 15 years old at the time.
He continued in the series in 2022, again at the wheel of a Honda Civic FK7, improving to fourth overall in the standings and claiming three podiums.
2023 was his biggest season to-date, as Volt took on both a full season in TCR Italy and a half season in TCR Europe. Although his season in TCR Italy was marred by a lack of consistency and reliability issues, in TCR Europe Volt showed strong pace in the new Honda, claiming two victories – as the youngest victor in the series’ history – to end the year ninth overall.
This year, ALM has confirmed that Volt will be back to take on campaigns in both series.
“2023 was a season with a lot of ups and downs,” said Volt, who has already been preparing for 2024 with an outing in the TCR Spain pre-season series last weekend.
“We started with the Civic FK7 and then it took a while to get used to the new FL5. I hope to do better this year and my goal is to make the top three in the championship, possibly scoring my first wins and fighting for the title.”
