Honda Australia and Tony D’Alberto continue in TCR Australia in 2024

Honda Australia has confirmed that it will continue its partnership with Tony D’Alberto and Wall Racing in the 2024 TCR Australia series, marking a fifth consecutive year for the relationship.

D’Alberto was part of the inaugural season of TCR Australia back in 2019, and the 2022 champion will continue to race Honda machinery, having recently switched to the new Honda Civic Type-R FL5 TCR for the final two rounds of the season.

The announcement was made at The Bend Motorsport Park, where D’Alberto and Honda Australia showed media the new Civic road and race cars.

“Honda has a rich history in motorsport and we are thrilled to continue to support Tony in the driver’s seat of the Honda Civic Type R FL5,” said Carolyn McMahon, Director at Honda Australia.

“Together with Tony and Wall Racing, Honda Australia has had great successes over the years on the racetrack.

“Our commitment to Tony and the team in 2024 underscores Honda Australia’s association with high-performance cars both on and off the track.”

D’Alberto ended the 2023 season as the runner-up in the drivers’ standings, having claimed one win and six podiums in total, the last of which was at the wheel of the new car.

Of the four TCR Australia seasons the 37-year-old has contested, he has finished as runner-up twice, champion once and was 12th in 2021. D’Alberto has three wins and 17 podiums to his name, making him one of the most successful racers in the series so far.

“It’s fantastic to continue with the great support from Honda Australia for the 2024 TCR Australia Series,” said D’Alberto.

“We have achieved some amazing results over the journey, including winning the title in 2022 and finishing second on two other occasions.

“The 2024 season is shaping up to be very competitive, as it always is in TCR, so I’m looking forward to getting back into it for the first round at Sandown.”

The 2024 TCR Australia Series gets underway at Sandown International Raceway in Melbourne in early February.
