The Lynk & Co 03 TCR has been given a 10 kg weight break in the latest adjustment to the TCR Balance of Performance [BoP] measures.
The main change to the BoP sees the Chinese cars given a 10 kg weight reduction, from 60 kg to 50 kg, which takes the car’s total racing weight to 1,265 kg.
The change is applicable with immediate effect. The only other change sees the Hyundai Elantra N TCR given a slight power reduction – the car will now run the engine ECU at ‘C4’ which provides 97.5% power, down from 100% previously.
The Lynk & Co had previously been the heaviest TCR car competing, but it is now the equal heaviest, along with the Hyundai Veloster N, which it does not directly compete against at present.
WTCR Compensation weights for Hungary
The Compensation Weights specific to the FIA World Touring Car Cup have been published for this weekend’s event at the Hungaroring.
The Honda Civic continues to carry the most Compensation Weight, with 60 kg on board, despite none of the Japanese cars breaking into the top ten at all in the last event in Spain.
Following victory in the opening race last time out at in Aragón, the Hyundai Elantra N TCR will carry the second most weight at 50 kg into the weekend.
Both the Audi RS3 LMS, which was victorious in race two with Frédéric Vervisch, and the Lynk & Co 03, which picked up a second with Thed Björk, will carry 10 kg.
The lightest car is the CUPRA Leon Competición, which will again carry no Compensation Weight. The car has only secured one podium and five top ten finishes between all four drivers in WTCR thus far this year.
