Race one winner Luca Engstler posted the fastest time in Sunday morning’s qualifying for the second ADAC TCR Germany race at Oschersleben, beating Saturday pole-sitter Martin Andersen by over half a second.
Engstler put his Hyundai on pole position with a time of 1 minute 30.808 seconds, the German two tenths slower than the best time of the previous day.
Engstler’s Hyundai Team Engstler team-mate Andersen, who had bagged pole on Saturday but then dropped down the order in race one, will start alongside on the front row, although the Dane was over half a second adrift.
Wimmer Werk Motorsport’s Eric Scalvini was third quickest in his new CUPRA, the Italian having already impressed on Saturday in his first race in the series.
Dominik Fugel was the leading Honda driver in fourth, ahead of René Kircher in the top Volkswagen in fifth, the latter being the only other driver within a second of Engstler’s pace.
Marcel Fugel was sixth in the second ADAC Sachsen Honda, ahead of series newcomer Robin Jahr in seventh.
The top ten was completed by the Hyundai duo of Lithuanian Jonas Karklys and German Patrick Sing, with Lubner Motorsport Opel driver Philipp Regensperger in tenth.
Race two gets underway at 13:10 BST (14:10 CEST) and will be live streamed via YouTube.
