The new CUPRA e-Racer destined for the all-electric PURE ETCR series has made its first appearance in an official ETCR test session today, lapping the MotorLand Aragón circuit in Spain.
Experienced touring car driver Jordi Gené was at the wheel, completing a number of laps in the powerful electric touring car.
“We have just completed the first day of testing with the CUPRA eRacer,” said Gené. “It’s a very challenging car.
“We have lot of work, as we have a so many things to be tested: chassis, tyres, new engine, new battery. A lot to do, so let’s hope we can make the most out of it!”
Also on track with Hyundai Motorsport was Hyundai’s new signing Jean-Karl Vernay, who got his first taste of the Veloster N ETCR.
“I have to say that the car is really amazing,” said Vernay. “The car is very powerful and I have loved it from the very first laps.
“It is super, super cool! It has been a magic experience!”
