Austrian GT racer Laura Kraihamer will take part in this weekend’s ADAC TCR Germany races at the Lausitzring, racing Hyundai Team Engstler’s VIP guest car.
The 29-year-old will be the only female driver on the grid for this weekend’s races, which take place at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz after a last-minute change from the originally scheduled venue of Zandvoort.
Kraihamer originally raced karts, before taking a break from motorsport until she was 22. Since then she has made a name for herself in GT racing, including becoming the first woman to win in ADAC GT4 Germany.
“I’m really looking forward to my debut in ADAC TCR Germany,” said Kraihamer, from Salzburg. “When the request came, I accepted immediately.
“The Hyundai i30 N TCR is new to me and I haven’t driven the track variant for a long time either.
“The Hyundai Team Engstler team has an incredible amount of experience and will be at my side with help and advice.
“I always enjoy watching the TCR races. The guys there can all drive and things get down to business. My goal is to improve myself over the weekend and have fun.”
