Comtoyou Racing will run two Audi RS3 LMS cars in the season finale of the TCR Europe series at Monza next weekend, with young Moroccan racer Sami Taoufik joining Gilles Magnus in the team’s Audi lineup.
Taoufik made his TCR début last weekend in the season finale of TCR Germany at the Sachsenring, where he finished a creditable tenth in race one – despite going off at the first corner and dropping to the back of the field. In race two he was 11th after another solid drive.
Taoufik has already impressed in the junior karting rankings, winning the 2016 WSK Super Master Championship in Class OKJ and then winning the Class OK of the 2017 CIK FIA European Championship.
The 17-year-old only made his car racing début at the end of 2017, when he took part in the United Arab Emirates Formula 4 Championship, followed by the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2018.
Taoufik will race the same car which he competed in TCR Germany at the wheel of.
