Frenchman John Filippi will take over the CUPRA previously raced by Georgian Davit Kajaia at PCR Sport for this weekend’s TCR Europe races in Barcelona and the next event at Monza.
Filippi will partner Qatari racer Abdulla Al-Khelaifi at the Spanish team after Kajaia’s seat was vacated.
The former WTCC racer had previously raced a Renault Mégane RS in the series, with that car now being campaigned by Jack Young at Vuković Motorsport.
“I’m really happy to come back with the CUPRA for the final rounds of TCR Europe,” said Filippi. “I’m ready for fighting in Spain, I know the car well and I like a lot the Barcelona track.
“Working with PCR Sport gives me a lot of confidence. They have a lot of knowledge and did very well last year.
“The most important me for this weekend is to find the right way of working and improve performance throughout the weekend.”
