Andreas and Jessica Bäckman will join the grid of the penultimate TCR Germany round of the year at the Hockenheimring this weekend, where they will race their Target Competition Hyundai i30 N TCR cars.
The Bäckman siblings are full-season regulars in the TCR Europe series this year, although Jessica has already made one guest appearance in TCR Germany when she raced the Engstler Motorsport VIP car at Most earlier in the year.
Jessica was ineligible for points on that occasion, and secured a best result of 13th from the two races in the Czech Republic.
This weekend Andreas will also take to the grid of the German series for the first time, ahead of the duo preparing for the penultimate round of TCR Europe in Barcelona next weekend.
Both drivers have already raced at the Hockenheimring this year, as TCR Europe visited the circuit in May, with Jessica securing a podium in the second race of the weekend.
“It will be an exciting new challenge to compete in TCR Germany,” said Andreas. “It’s a series that is ranked high and has some top-class drivers, so it won’t be easy, but it feels good to get back out on the race tracks and to compete again.
“It will also be a good preparation for next weekend when we are back in TCR Europe after the long break.”
Jessica Bäckman added: “I’m looking forward to race again and, it’s extra fun to be back and join TCR Germany again.
“I feel comeback hungry since last time and this competition is also a perfect preparation for Barcelona next weekend.”
