Lubner Motorsport will give the LADA Vesta TCR its first outing outside Russia this weekend, when Jan Seyffert races one of the Russian cars in the TCR Germany races at Zandvoort in The Netherlands.
The German team has been in possession of one of the cars since last year and it has since ran the Vesta in one round of the VLN on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Seyffert, 21, made his début in the German TCR series last year, joining the field for the fifth round at the Red Bull Ring. Since then he has competed in an Opel Astra TCR with the Eastern German team, until switching to LADA this weekend.
Lubner Motorsport are not setting any expectations for results from running the car this weekend.
“The goal is to gain experience to develop the vehicle in a competitive way,” said the team. “Results are not a priority, for now.”
To-date the Vesta has only competed in TCR Russia, where it has claimed 12 victories since being introduced at the start of the 2017 season. The most recent win was with Kirill Ladygin at the Autodrom Moscow last weekend.
