Reigning TCR Germany champion Harald Proczyk secured pole position ahead of title rival Mike Halder by just under a tenth at Most.
It marked Proczyk’s second consecutive pole position, as the only driver to breach under the 1:40s mark with his benchmark of 1:39.969, which championship leader Mike Halder sat 0.080s adrift of.
Heading the second row was fellow Hyundai runner Max Hesse with an impressive performance from Julien Apotheloz’s to place his CUPRA fourth.
Next was Dominik Fugel’s Honda, which nearly topped Q1, heading the three Hyundais of Theo Coicaud, Jessica Bäckman and Lucas Niederscheider in sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.
Notably, Bäckman makes a one-off outing in the series this weekend, while Niederscheider will be disappointed with eighth after topping Q1.
Antti Buri’s LMS Racing Audi was ninth, while Bradley Burns’ Team Pyro Motorsport Honda completed the top ten.
The opening race of the weekend at Most is scheduled to get underway at 11:45 CEST (10:45 BST) tomorrow [18 May.]
